HISTOPATHOLOGY
DIGITAL PATHOLOGY

As part of biomedical research (basic and preclinical), we conduct assessments of the potential efficacy and/or toxicity of the substance or materials under study, as well as understanding of the mechanisms of these interactions.

We also perform veterinary and life science or diagnostic and research studies in the field of histopathology of companion, farm or free-living animals.

The scope of tests and procedures performed includes:

• Necropsy examinations or development of guidelines for performing autopsies

• Paraffin and freezing histological technique

• Histopathological examination of autopsy and biopsy tissues and ex vivo tests

• Scalar (semi-quantitative) assessment of severity, the so-called grading, observed histopathological changes

• Histochemical stains

• Immunohistochemical stains

• Fluorescence and confocal microscopy

• Transmission electron microscopy of animal tissues

• Morphometry, densitometry and other quantitative analyses

• Laser microdissection (LCM)

• Molecular pathology with isolation of genetic material from a histological block (FFPE)

• Statistical analyzes and visualization of obtained quantitative and semi-quantitative data

• Archiving test documentation, blocks and histological preparations

Our pathologists are members of pathology societies and attend numerous conferences and seminars, which enables us to stay abreast of the latest developments and standards in pathology.

In addition, our professional practice is based on constant contact with external Supervisors and also in our work we use a system of peer-review microscopy and external consultation.

Digital pathology and image analysis:

  • Performing image documentation (microphotographs with scale and descriptions)

  • Performing histological scans (so-called WSI Whole Slide Imaging)

  • Archiving and transferring microscopic images

  • Advanced morphometric and densitometric analyses

  • Statistical analysis and visualization of the obtained results
